April: taxes are due; baseball seasons from kids to the Major Leagues start their seasons; Easter and Passover are celebrated; and our yards come back to life with great vigor. April is really the epitome of spring for all of us who enjoy being outdoors: plenty of warm, sunny days, typically enough rain to make all of nature lush and beautiful, and days that keep getting longer so we can get to all that needs to be done. We’ve had a (mostly) beautiful March this year, which has enabled us to enjoy a nice long period of spring bulb and early tree blooms. The several days of below freezing temperatures at the end of the month aborted some of this early color, but nevertheless, because of the mild temperatures in early and mid-March, it’s been beautiful so far. Now we are ready to REALLY get into the part of spring that makes Bucks and Montgomery Counties in PA and all the surrounding areas such a lovely area to live.
Lawn Depot Turf Management has been busy since the last day of February with our first application: early spring fertilizer, pre-emergent crabgrass control, and cool season broadleaf weed control. We’ll be continuing with this first regular application over the next several weeks, along with our spring core aeration and liming (as weather permits). And although lawns are now actively growing, if you are interested in using the best Turf Management company in the business for your application work this year, or if you’d like to have your lawn aerated and/or limed but don’t choose to do it yourself, there’s still time to get on our list of satisfied customers. The Garden Center is now open every day: Monday through Friday 8-6, Saturday 8-5, and Sunday 9-3. We’re fully stocked with all the fertilizers, pest control products, tools and other gardening materials you’ll need throughout the gardening season.
