April 2020

As we enter the busiest month of the 2020 spring growing season, we are all in the very unexpected position of necessary social distancing in order to combat the spread of the Novel Coronavirus.  We certainly never expected to usher in spring from behind locked doors.  But we’ve accepted and adapted, and we’re here to tell you that we’re ready to do whatever we can to help you ready your yards for the 2020 lawn and garden season.  We’re hopeful that our current situation could ease in plenty of time for us to enjoy the spring rush.  We want to emphasize to all of you that there’s still lots of time for us to accomplish all of the jobs we normally face as the growing season gets going this spring.

For 47 years now, The Lawn Depot has made its way by offering the best lawn and garden products and services, along with sound advice on how and when to use them.  Nothing’s changed except the way we’ll be delivering our products, services and advice to you until we’ve gotten the upper hand on this virus and can return to our normal lifestyles.  In truth, April is a month when we encourage all of you to be preparing lawns and gardens for the upcoming burst of spring.  Lawns need fertilizer, crabgrass and weed control.   You, our customers, need advice on when and how to get the best results.  Beds need to be prepped for spring mulch, and existing plants need to be fed and pest protected.  Admittedly, although this is the perfect time for planting perennials and we’ve got lots to sell, it’s still way too early for planting most annuals, so we’ve got time there. We’re prohibited at this time from opening the Garden Center for customers to browse and shop, but this will pass, and we’ll still be in prime planting season.  In the meantime, we ARE offering Delivery Services of all of our store merchandise within a manageable distance from our Garden Center location.  If you’re interested, please send us a message via the Contact Us page on our website (www.lawndepotinc.com).

At the present time Lawn Depot operations are being carried out at the store with a skeleton staff, while most of our support services are being done remotely from home.  We’re working hard to give the same attention to business services we normally do from the office while we navigate this new temporary reality.  I want to commend our loyal employee group for the way they’ve been handling this situation.  Fortunately, we’ve got a wonderful staff, many of whom have been with us for numerous years.  They’re loyal and just as anxious as the rest of us to get back normal.  We’re keeping the entire Lawn Depot family on board, doing maintenance, deliveries, and planning how best to act responsibly and safely as we proceed on.

The Turf Management division has resumed services, albeit in a much more challenging environment.  We have implemented new standard operating procedures and best management practices to protect the health and well-being of our staff and their families, as well as the health and well-being of our customers and their families.  This has all taken a tremendous effort on the part of our staff, as we are practicing social distancing and working with a skeleton crew at the shop while everyone else works remotely from home.  We are in the process of completing the first round of applications and are right on schedule to finish by late April.  We’ve got a full crew and everyone is ready to get back to work.  If you are a current customer and have questions, please contact us through our website (www.lawndepotinc.com) or email (web@lawndepotinc.com).  If this method of correspondence is unavailable to you, just give us a call and leave a message.  Whatever means you contact us by, we will get back to you as quickly as possible.  For those of you that have not yet activated your service or are interested in a quote for service, we are still accepting both.  Just look us up on the Contact Us page of our website or click the “Request an Estimate” button on our home page.

It’s April and it’s a great time to be out and working in our yards.  This situation is something of an inconvenience, but by no means does anything have to be lost because of it.  In fact, it may well afford many of you more time to tend to your spring yard chores.  We look forward to seeing all of you when we can all get back to life as we knew it before COVID-19.   In the meantime, we encourage you to communicate with us via our Contact Us page on our website (www.lawndepotinc.com) or by phone (215-348-5553) if you don’t have internet or email service.  Please leave a voicemail with questions, or product delivery requests and someone from our team of lawn and garden professionals will get back in touch with you.  And thanks for being Lawn Depot loyalists for so long.
